For the second time in a week, a member of the Boston Celtics has announced that they are expecting a child.
A week ago, Robyn Hayward confirmed that she and her husband, Gordon Hayward, would be having their fourth child. And for the first time, the Haywards would be having a boy.
This week, Assou, the partner of Celtics rookie center Vincent Poirier, confirmed that the couple is expecting a baby girl. Here's her post via Instagram.
Poirier took to Twitter to break the news as well, but his announcement had a rather... different tone than that of Assou's. Poirier's was fairly normal save for the nickname that he referred to himself as in the post.
Evidently, this nickname was not self-chosen by Poirier and it was one that a beat reporter jokingly gave him at some point this season. But Poirier is apparently embracing it, based on this post.
Frankly, it's pretty hilarious (albeit a bit cringeworthy) and further showcases Poirier's sense of humor, which has been welcome in the Celtics locker room this season.
Poirier has played sparingly across 21 games for the Celtics this season, averaging 1.9 points and 1.6 rebounds in 5.4 minutes per game.
