The Boston Celtics went into Milwaukee and pummeled the team with the NBA's best record in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference semifinals series, and all eyes are on the Bucks and superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo to see how they respond in Tuesday night's Game 2.
Boston's 112-90 victory was built on defense, primarily Al Horford limiting Antetokounmpo, the likely league MVP. Antetokounmpo scored 22 points and shot 7-for-21 from the field. The C's did a great job protecting the paint and contesting Milwaukee shots.
The Celtics also received strong offensive contributions from Kyrie Irving (team-leading 26 points), Horford (20 points) and Jaylen Brown (19 points). Gordon Hayward and Terry Rozier both hit double-digit scoring off the bench. It was a total team effort on both ends of the court by the Celtics, and they'll need a similar performance to stun the Bucks again and take a 2-0 series lead back to Boston.
