Celtics vs. Bulls odds: Best NBA picks after Boston's bounce-back win

Share

The Boston Celtics are getting a little help from their schedule to turn things around.

The Celtics snapped at three-game losing streak Saturday night by routing the lowly New Orleans Pelicans 140-105.

They'll take on another mediocre opponent Monday in the 14-26 Chicago Bulls, who come to TD Garden having lost six of their last seven games.

Chicago hung around with Boston earlier this month, though, losing by just seven points in the teams' first meeting.

So, are the Bulls a sneaky candidate to cover the spread, or will Jayson Tatum and the C's keep the momentum rolling in another blowout win?

Below are our moneyline, point spread and point total predictions for Celtics-Bulls, as well as two NBA locks against the spread.

Chicago Bulls at Boston Celtics, 7:30 p.m. ET

Moneyline: No need to get cute here. The Celtics (-550) have just three home losses this season and should take care of business with all of their primary scorers healthy.

Point Spread: The Bulls' frontcourt could give Boston problems if Daniel Theis (questionable with right knee soreness) can't play. But Enes Kanter has been playing well, and the Celtics (-10) are 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 home games vs. the Bulls. I like that trend continuing.

Point Total: It's tempting to take the over after Boston's 140-point explosion Saturday, but these teams always seem to play low-scoring games. (The under has hit in 12 of their last 18 matchups.) The Celtics hold the Bulls under 100 and keep the point total UNDER 215.5.

Darren's record picking the Celtics' moneyline, point spread and point total: 52-28-1 (64.2% success rate)

NBA Locks of the Night

Orlando Magic (+2) at Sacramento Kings: The Kings have won three of their last five games, but I can't take Sacramento in a virtual pick 'em against a superior Orlando team that's 6-4 in its last 10 games.

Cleveland Cavaliers (+14) at Los Angeles Lakers: The Cavs have rallied around head coach John Beilein, winning two in a row and covering the spread in five straight contests. LeBron James will make sure the Lakers beat his former team, but I think Cleveland can cover this massive spread.

Darren's record picking NBA locks against the spread: 27-26-1 (50% success rate)
