The Boston Celtics will aim to hand the Brooklyn Nets their first loss of the 2020-21 NBA season when these teams meet at TD Garden for a much-anticipated Christmas Day matchup.
The Celtics earned a thrilling season-opening victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night. C's star Jayson Tatum hit a 3-point shot with 0.4 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to secure a huge win for Boston versus one of the league's best teams.
The Nets should be a tougher challenge for the Celtics. Brooklyn dominated Boston last week in a preseason matchup at the Garden. Nets stars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving combined for 41 points despite not playing much in the second half.
Brooklyn also won its season opener -- a 125-99 victory over the banged up Golden State Warriors.
