The Boston Celtics will try to avoid losing three consecutive games when they play the Indiana Pacers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Tuesday night.
These teams played Sunday in Indiana and the Pacers escaped with a 108-107 victory after Celtics star Jayson Tatum missed a potential game-winning 3-point shot as time expired.
The C's will need to improve their defense for a better result Tuesday. Boston ranks 22nd in points allowed per game, 24th in opponents' 3-point percentage and 30th in opponents' field goal percentage. Of course, a three-game sample is very small, but we know the Celtics can play much better defensively after finishing as a top 10 unit last season.
This game against the Pacers is the Celtics' second of six road matchups in a seven-game span through Jan. 6. Winning on the road is going to be very important for the C's early in the 2020-21 season.
