The Boston Celtics have been one of the NBA's most successful teams against the spread this season.

The Celtics have lost four of their last five games despite being favored in all but one of those contests. That skid has severely hindered their quest for the Eastern Conference's No. 2 seed, and their path doesn't get any easier: Boston travels to Indiana on Tuesday to face a Pacers team that's 6-1 in its last seven games.

With Jaylen Brown ruled out for Tuesday's contest, should you be wary of backing the struggling C's? We'll break it all down in our Celtics-Pacers betting predictions, followed by two NBA locks against the spread.

Boston Celtics at Indiana Pacers, 7 p.m. ET

Moneyline: Indiana has all the momentum here ... which is why I'm backing the Celtics (-150). Boston needs a win and will play with the desperation necessary to get it done. Oh, the C's have won five of their last seven games in Indy dating to 2016.

Point Spread: A road trip might be just what Boston needs amid its tailspin. The Celtics (-3) have covered in five consecutive road games and have won three straight away from TD Garden despite a four-game home losing streak. The C's bounce back on the road.

Point Total: The Celtics' stark home and road differences involve points, too: Boston has scored 105 points or more in 12 straight road games, per Boston Sports Info. Four of Indiana's last five games have hit the OVER, so that's the bet I like on the 214.5 point total.

Darren's record picking the Celtics' moneyline, point spread and point total: 85-49-1 (63.0% success rate)

NBA Locks of the Night

Dallas Mavericks (-3) at San Antonio Spurs: The Mavs haven't lost yet this season to the Spurs, who are 0-7 against the spread in their last seven games. Dallas should handle this battle for Texas with relative ease.

Brooklyn Nets at Los Angeles Lakers (-9.5): You could argue this is a trap game for L.A. after wins over the 76ers, Bucks and Clippers, but 9.5 points seems manageable against a Nets team that just fired its head coach.

Darren's record picking NBA locks against the spread: 44-44-1 (49.4% success rate)
