Celtics vs. Warriors odds: Best NBA picks with Jayson Tatum on minutes limit

Share

The Boston Celtics are (almost) at full strength.

Jayson Tatum will return to action Thursday night against the Golden State Warriors after missing three games due to a groin strain.

He'll be on a minutes restriction, though, while big man Enes Kanter won't play due to a hip injury.

The Celtics shouldn't need all of their firepower to defeat the Warriors, who own the NBA's worst record (10-38) and have lost 14 of their 15 games.

Boston only beat Golden State by five points in their previous meeting, however, and the C's occasionally have struggled to put away bad opponents.

How confident should you be in the Celtics on Thursday? Here are our betting predictions, as well as two NBA locks against the spread.

Golden State Warriors at Boston Celtics, 8 p.m. ET

Moneyline: The Warriors have won three road games all season, and none were against teams with winning records. Even if the Celtics (-1400) come out flat, they should have no trouble getting the win.

Point Spread: Tatum being on a minutes limit actually may work in the Celtics' favor. He gets some run early, then Kemba Walker, Gordon Hayward and Jaylen Brown take things from there as the Celtics (-13.5) cover to move to 5-1 against the spread in their last six games.

Point Total: Two reasons why I like the UNDER on the 223.5 point total: The Warriors have the NBA's fifth-worst offense, and the total has gone under in four of Boston's five contests.

Darren's record picking the Celtics' moneyline, point spread and point total: 64-37-1 (62.7% success rate)

NBA Locks of the Night

Utah Jazz (+1.5) at Denver Nuggets: The Jazz were scorching hot before dropping their last two games. I still like their chances against a banged-up Nuggets team that's gone 3-3 over its last six games without Jamal Murray, Paul Millsap and Mason Plumlee.

Sacramento Kings at Los Angeles Clippers (-13.5): Yeah, it's a large spread, but the Kings have covered just twice in their last nine games and get the two-headed monster of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George on Thursday night.

Darren's record picking NBA locks against the spread: 34-33-1 (50% success rate)
