Celtics wing depth put to test vs. Mavs with Brown, Morris out

BOSTON – The Boston Celtics spent the offseason strengthening their roster in part by adding depth at the wing position.

That depth will be put to the test with Jaylen Brown and Marcus Morris out for tonight’s game against the Dallas Mavericks.

Morris, who missed the first eight games of the season with a left knee soreness, is out tonight according to the team because of “left knee rehabilitation.”

As for Brown, the Celtics announced that he is out due to an “inflamed right eye” which according to the team, is non-basketball related.

Without Brown and Morris, the Celtics will likely start Marcus Smart at shooting guard. Rookie Semi Ojeyle, who averages 9.6 minutes per game, will likely see his role expanded tonight due to Morris’ absence.
