The NBA season has been put on hold for at least 30 days due to the coronavirus crisis, meaning we may have to wait until mid-April at the earliest to watch the Boston Celtics again.
As a way to make up for the loss of Celtics action, we'll be using the NBA 2K20 video game to simulate each game on the schedule until they finally return.
- vs. Milwaukee Bucks
- vs. Washington Wizards
- vs. Chicago Bulls
- vs. New York Knicks
- vs. Toronto Raptors
- vs. Brooklyn Nets
The Celtics were supposed to be taking on the Washington Wizards on Tuesday night. The last time we simulated this matchup, it resulted in a 113-103 win for Washington.
Here's how the sim went this time around:
Another huge game for Kemba Walker, who led the way with 36 points. The C's guard by far has been the most productive player throughout these simulations.
Jayson Tatum and Gordon Hayward starred in this one as well, tallying 29 and 19 points respectively. Jaylen Brown chimed in with a nice performance of his own, totaling 16 points to go along with four steals.
Boston's offense has been on an absolute tear in our last five sims, and this game certainly continued that hot streak.
Bradley Beal torched the C's in our previous simulation of this matchup and he did it again this time around with 33 points. Four other Wizards players scored in double figures, but it didn't matter as Boston's offense again proved to be too much to handle.
The Wizards led by 21 points at one point in this game. Yes, you read that correctly. They led by 21 and ended up losing by 15.
The one other glaring stat here is those offensive rebounds (21 for Washington, 3 for Boston). That was a huge problem for the Celtics in the first half. Ultimately, though, they prevailed despite their issues on the boards.
FINAL SCORE: Celtics 123, Wizards 108
That's five wins in a row for the NBA 2K Celtics, and a solid revenge win following their loss to the Wizards in our last Boston-Washington sim.
