If you're reading this, chances are you've tuned into ESPN's "The Last Dance," a 10-part documentary about Michael Jordan and the 1997-98 Chicago Bulls.

But you can't tell the story of MJ's Bulls without mention of the Boston Celtics.

We'll show you why over the first three Sundays in May, during which NBC Sports Boston will re-broadcast three memorable Celtics-Bulls games as a continuation of our "Classic Celtics" series.

Sunday Showdowns with the Bulls

Sunday, May 3, 7 p.m. - Celtics vs. Bulls, Oct. 31, 1997
In Rick Pitino's Boston coaching debut, the Celtics defeat Jordan's Bulls 92-85 in the first game of Chicago's "Last Dance" season.

Sunday, May 10, 7 p.m. - Celtics vs. Bulls, 1986 Eastern Conference first round​, Game 2​​​​​​
Jordan explodes for an NBA playoff record 63 points, but the Celtics win 135-131 in double overtime to take a 2-0 series lead.

Sunday, May 17, 7 p.m. - 1988 NBA All-Star Weekend*
Larry Bird wins the 3-Point Contest while wearing his Celtics warmup suit in an epic performance. Then, Jordan battles Dominique Wilkins in one of the greatest Slam Dunk Contests ever.

UPDATE: The "Classic Celtics" episode for May 17 has been changed to Larry Bird's retirement ceremony from Feb. 4, 1993. NBC Sports Boston will air a two-hour special on Bird's number being raised to the Boston Garden rafters.

The action begins this Sunday at 7 p.m., with former Celtics star Antoine Walker joining Brian Scalabrine for additional color commentary for the 1997-98 season opener.
