The Boston Celtics were well-represented in Springfield this weekend.
The 2021 Basketball Hall of Fame class was revealed Sunday and includes forward Paul Pierce, NBA icon Bill Russell (as a coach) and NBC Sports Boston play-by-play man Mike Gorman, who received the 2021 Curt Gowdy Award for excellence in broadcasting.
That's three Celtics legends who will be immortalized in Springfield in September, and C's president of basketball operations Danny Ainge celebrated the occasion in a fitting tweet.

Between Pierce's accomplishments as a player (10 All-Star appearances, a championship and an NBA Finals MVP), Russell's as a head coach (two NBA titles; first Black head coach in the league) and Gorman's as a broadcaster (five Emmy awards over four decades calling Celtics games), there's plenty of star power in this "Big Three."
Gorman has described Pierce as his favorite Celtic of all time, so it's fitting that he and The Truth will enter the Hall together. To top it all off, Kevin Garnett -- who with Pierce and Ray Allen formed Boston's "Big Three" in 2007 -- was officially inducted into the Hall of Fame this weekend as member of the 2020 class.
In short, it was a weekend full of pride for the Celtics and their supporters, as several of the team's legends are finally getting their due.
