LeBron James has played some of his best games ever against the Boston Celtics.
But guess what? James also played the literal worst game of his NBA career against Boston -- exactly 12 years ago Wednesday.
On May 6, 2008, the Celtics welcomed James' Cleveland Cavaliers to TD Garden for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Boston's defense tortured the Cavs star, who went 2-for-18 from the field (12 points) while committing 10 turnovers to finish with a "Game Score" (more on that metric here) of -0.7.
According to Boston Sports Info (@BostonSportsInf), that's LeBron's lowest Game Score in any of the 1,497 regular- or postseason games he's played.
The eventual champion Celtics didn't light up the scoreboard either, but rode their ferocious defense to a 76-72 win that set the tone for the series.

Here are two other notable May 6 performances from the C's, who are 7-3 all-time in games played on this date:
May 6, 1988: Dennis Johnson (19 points, 10 rebounds, 12 assists) records the only triple-double of his career to help the Celtics eliminate the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference First Round.
May 6, 1986: The Celtics demolish the Hawks in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, holding Atlanta to just six points in the third quarter (second-fewest points in a quarter in NBA playoff history) in a 132-99 rout.
