Larry Bird didn't have to score in bunches to leave his impact on a game.
The Boston Celtics legend couldn't find his shooting stroke on this day 33 years ago -- May 19, 1987 -- during Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Detroit Pistons.
Bird shot just 31.8 percent from the floor (7 for 22) to finish with 18 points and even committed six turnovers. But the Celtics great stuffed the rest of the stat sheet, adding 16 rebounds and 11 assists to finish with a triple-double in Boston's 104-91 win.
It was one of 10 career playoff triple-doubles for Bird, which is tied for the fourth-most in NBA history. Robert Parish also was a menace was for the C's in this game, scoring a game-high 31 points on 10 for 12 shooting.
