If you freaked out over Enes Kanter's cryptic tweet Thursday afternoon -- blame Chris Forsberg.

Less than 90 minutes before the 3 p.m. ET NBA trade deadline, Kanter sent out the dreaded "eye emoji" tweet, leading nervous Boston Celtics fans to wonder if Danny Ainge had a last-minute trade up his sleeve.

Here's a sampling of reactions to Kanter's tweet:

Some media outlets even ran with Kanter's mysterious tweet:

But here's the thing: Forsberg, our NBC Sports Boston Insider, co-hosts "The Enes Kanter Show" podcast with the Celtics big man.

And on this week's episode, Forsberg put Kanter up to a little gag.

"Please do this: At some point in the next 24 hours, just use the 'eyes emoji'," Forsberg said. "Trae Young did it (Monday), and people freaked out."

Consider the troll executed, as the Celtics didn't make any moves Thursday prior to the 3 p.m. deadline.

To complete the cycle, Kanter sent out pretty awesome video just after 3 p.m. celebrating the fact that he isn't being traded:

Kanter's joy over not being traded is a good sign that he's enjoying his tenure in Boston. The 27-year-old is averaging 9.4 points and 8.2 rebounds while playing 18.7 minutes per game and seems to fit well in a Celtics locker room with some strong chemistry.

Just don't pull our collective leg too many more times, Enes.
