Ex-C's head coach Doc Rivers fired by Clippers

After seven seasons, Doc Rivers is out as Los Angeles Clippers head coach.

The Clippers fired Rivers on Monday, two weeks after falling to the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference semifinals. The ex-Celtics coach posted a statement on Twitter shortly after the announcement.

Rivers led the Clippers to a 49-23 regular season record, which was good enough for the No. 2 seed in the West. It was all for naught, however, as his team unraveled in the conference semifinals and blew a 3-1 series lead to Denver.

The Philadelphia 76ers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Indiana Pacers, and New Orleans Pelicans each currently have head coaching vacancies. It'll be interesting to see where Rivers ends up if he decides to continue his coaching career.
