Former Celtics guard Terry Rozier to see minutes increase with Hornets

Terry Rozier is going to play a big role with the Charlotte Hornets this season.

After signing a three-year, $58 million free-agent deal, the former Celtics point guard goes from a backup role in Boston to replacing Kemba Walker as the starter in Charlotte (and Walker, coincidentally, becomes the C's starting point guard).

So naturally, Rozier, who, after the season complained about the "sacrifices" he made in his time as a Celtics reserve, will see a significant playing time increase in his new role. According to The Athletic's Rod Boone, first-year Hornets coach James Borrego said Rozier's minutes will nearly double from last season.

The Hornets tweeted a photo of Rozier in his new threads. Check it out. He goes from No. 12 with the Celtics to No. 3 in Charlotte:

In his four-year tenure with the Celtics, Rozier, 25, taken 16th overall by Boston in the 2015 draft, averaged 7.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. He significantly increased his stock over the past two seasons by averaging 11.3 points through the 2017-18 season - when he moved into a starting role after the injury to Kyrie Irving - and nine points per game last season as Irving's backup.
