Giannis Antetokounmpo says Celtics ‘definitely play to the limits' of flagrant fouling

Part of the Boston Celtics' gameplan to slow down Milwaukee Bucks superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo is to be physical with him, and the likely NBA MVP hasn't been shy about discussing the level of contact he's taken through two games of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Antetokounmpo even told Yahoo! Sports' Vincent Goodwill after the Bucks' blowout win Tuesday night in Game 2 that the C's play 'to the limits' of flagrant fouls.

We're not so sure about this one.

While the Celtics have been physical with Antetokounmpo and have tried to make him earn every basket, particularly in the paint, there haven't been any super-hard fouls that came close to being flagrant-worthy.

Antetokounmpo has enjoyed the benefit of consistently getting calls in this series. He attempted 10 free throws in Game 1 and 18 free throws in Game 2. His 11.8 free throw attempts per game leads all players in the 2019 NBA playoffs.

The series shifts to Boston for Game 3 on Friday night. With two days of rest in between games, the Celtics have plenty of time to make adjustments defensively after Antetokounmpo scored 29 points with 10 rebounds in Milwaukee's Game 2 victory.
