During the All-Star break, Gordon Hayward suffered an ankle injury that was expected to sideline him short-term. It was unclear exactly how much time he was going to miss, but because of the timing of the injury, it might end up being just one game.
After missing the Boston Celtics' Thursday night loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, Hayward practiced on Friday. Brad Stevens said he looked good in the session and that he would be re-evaluated on Saturday.
Hayward himself went one step further. While he confirmed that he felt good after practice, he also confirmed that he is expecting to play Saturday against the Bulls.
Hayward told me he feels really good after today’s session and thinks he’ll be able to play tomorrow.

Getting Hayward back would be a big boost for the Celtics' second unit. Against Milwaukee, the Celtics' bench had just 21 total points, 15 of which came from Jaylen Brown. Hayward has been hot as of late and averaged 17 points per game in the final five games ahead of the All-Star break.
