Gordon Hayward's stat line vs. Wolves was among rarest in NBA history

Gordon Hayward's coming out party in Minnesota also was one for the record books.

The Boston Celtics forward dropped a season-high 30 points to go along with nine rebounds and eight assists in a 118-109 win over the Timberwolves, earning himself a Gatorade bath as a result.

Hayward put up that gaudy stat line despite coming off the bench, accomplishing a feat never before done in Celtics history.

But the most impressive part of Hayward's night? He put up those numbers in just 29 minutes.

And get this: Since 1946, only two other NBA players have tallied at least 30 points, nine rebounds and eight assists in 30 or fewer minutes, according to Basketball Reference.

You may have heard of them: Giannis Antetokounmpo and Russell Westbrook.

Hayward was incredibly efficient Saturday night, going 8-for-16 from the floor and hitting four of his five 3-point attempts while serving as an effective facilitator.

It was a performance Celtics fans had yet to see from the former All-Star, who has taken some time to reacclimate to the speed of an NBA game after missing all of last season with an ankle injury.

Hayward's full potential was on display Saturday night, though, and C's president of basketball operations Danny Ainge was among the many who liked what they saw.
