Grant Williams petitions for Jaylen Brown to be an All-Star

Jayson Tatum was the only Boston Celtics player named an NBA All-Star reserve on Thursday, but Jaylen Brown still has a chance to earn his second All-Star nod.

Brown can punch his ticket to Cleveland as an injury replacement with Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant missing this year's festivities due to an MCL sprain.

Grant Williams took to Twitter to make the case for his Celtics teammate.

"Everyone spam Jaylen Brown and tag @NBA and let’s make him an all star!! KD isn’t playing and he’s the most deserving!!" Williams wrote.

Brown appreciated Williams' efforts.

"Everyone needs a friend like Grant lol," he responded

Ultimately, it will be NBA commissioner Adam Silver choosing who takes Durant's spot as an Eastern Conference All-Star.

Brown will have plenty of competition for the All-Star spot, but his numbers certainly should put him in the running. The 25-year-old is averaging 24.2 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists through 39 games played.

The 2022 NBA All-Star Game is scheduled for Feb. 20 at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
