Here is Kemba's new minutes restriction for second Celtics-76ers game

The Boston Celtics will be ramping up Kemba Walker's minutes in Friday's road game versus the Philadelphia 76ers.

Walker missed the Celtics' first 11 games of the season as he recovered from a left knee injury. He made his season debut Sunday versus the New York Knicks. He was on a 20-minute playing time restriction for that game and Wednesday's matchup with the Sixers as the Celtics slowly work him into the fold.

Celtics head coach Brad Stevens told reporters Thursday that Walker's minutes restriction is going to be increased entering his third game back.

Walker looked good physically but struggled to score against the Knicks in his first game of the season. He was much better Wednesday. The All-Star point guard scored 19 points with six assists in just 22 minutes against the Sixers.

Minutes restrictions are often frustrating for players, especially if they feel good enough to play more. But the Celtics need Walker at 100 percent to make a serious run at an NBA championship this year, so both sides should take this process slowly and help ensure a full recovery for the veteran guard.
