The injury bug has followed Gordon Hayward from Boston to Charlotte.
In only his second preseason game with the Hornets on Monday night, the ex-Celtics forward suffered an avulsion fracture of the fifth finger on his right hand. The team announced Hayward will miss Thursday's preseason matchup vs. the Orlando Magic and is “day-to-day."

Hayward dealt with multiple injuries during his three-year tenure in Boston, most notably the dislocated ankle/fractured tibia he suffered just minutes into his Celtics debut. The 30-year-old also fractured his hand early last season and missed time in the playoffs due to a sprained ankle.
The Hornets signed Hayward to a four-year, $120 million contract during the offseason.
