How good are the Celtics when Terry Rozier scores? That, plus more cool stats

BOSTON -- We all know that Terry Rozier is an important part of this Boston Celtics puzzle of players.

He showed his worth during the playoffs last season and after a so-so start, he seems to be getting back into a nice groove.

But as important as it is for Rozier to contribute in a multitude of areas, the one barometer for his success and the team’s for that matter, is him getting buckets.

Rozier has had 13 games this season in which he has reached double figures scoring for the Boston Celtics.

And their record in those games?

A near-spotless 12-1 record, with the lone loss coming at Utah on Nov. 9.

So as much as we want to weigh in on the various analytics data that may factor into tonight’s game between the Boston Celtics and the Atlanta Hawks, arguably the most basic stat of them all - scoring - will be the truth-teller tonight when it comes to Rozier’s impact on Boston winning.

Here are some more notable stats heading into tonight’s game against Atlanta.

  • Semi Ojeleye has the best defensive rating (88.0) in the NBA among players this season to appear in at least 20 games and average at least 10 minutes per game.

  • Marcus Morris is shooting 49.5 percent on above-the-break 3’s, which ranks 2nd in the NBA.

  • Aron Baynes had a season-high 16 points against the Hawks on Nov. 23, in addition to grabbing nine rebounds.

  • Robert Williams has 12 made baskets this season, 10 of which are dunks.

  • The Atlanta Hawks are giving up a league-high 118 points per game this season. To put that in perspective, no team has allowed that many points since the Denver Nuggets (130.8) did so during the 1990-1991 season, which was 28 years ago.
