Isaiah Thomas plays pickup game with Emerson College students

Though his days in Green and White are over (for now), Isaiah Thomas still has a strong connection with the city of Boston.

With his Denver Nuggets in town, Thomas asked on Twitter if there were any open gyms in the area Sunday evening. He received a one-on-one challenge from former teammate Terry Rozier, but he instead stayed late after practice at Emerson College for a pickup game with a bunch of students.

Emerson students Kyle Bray and Jeremy Guerin participated in the pickup game and posted photos and videos of their unforgettable experience with the former Celtics guard.

“He was putting up shots and then me and a bunch of other Emerson kids ended up at the free throw line,” Bray said per The Boston Globe. “We shot free throws to see which team we’d be on, and then he played a five-on-five scrimmage with nine of us.”

“He’s just an unbelievable guy,” Bray continued. “I was so honored to meet him and glad he stuck around.”

Regardless of whether Thomas gets any playing time during Monday night's Nuggets-Celtics matchup, he'll undoubtedly receive a warm welcome back to TD Garden as one of the most beloved C's players in recent years.
