Jaylen Brown (illness) out tonight vs Wizards

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Boston Celtics swingman Jaylen Brown was a late scratch and will miss Wednesday’s game against the Washington Wizards due to illness.

Brown looked under the weather at Wednesday’s morning shootaround and was ruled out a little more than an hour before tipoff. The Celtics were already playing without fellow reserve wing Gordon Hayward, who did not make the trip due to illness.

The Celtics were scheduled to get a pair of bodies back Wednesday night as Kyrie Irving (shoulder) and Aron Baynes (ankle) were set to start versus the Wizards. But injury-bitten Boston was without Brown, Hayward, Al Horford (knee), and Guerschon Yabusele (ankle).

The Wizards were without Dwight Howard (back surgery) and Otto Porter Jr. (right knee contusion).

Brown had put together a pair of trio of strong outings since returning from a back bruise. Brown was averaging 21 points per game over Boston’s last three wins and had given the bench a boost with an aggressive attacking mindset.
