Jaylen Brown's strong start to the 2019-20 season is on pause.

The Boston Celtics wing has an infection and won't travel for Tuesday's game in Cleveland against the Cavaliers, head coach Brad Stevens confirmed Monday.

Stevens didn't reveal the nature of Brown's infection but noted Brown could join the Celtics for either Thursday's game in Charlotte or Saturday's game in San Antonio.

Brown enjoyed two strong games against the Toronto Raptors and New York Knicks before missing Boston's last two contests due to illness.

The Celtics won both games, though, and could get a boost Tuesday night from big man Enes Kanter, who is hopeful to return against the Cavs.

Kanter hasn't played since Boston's season opener due to a knee contusion, and the C's could use his help on the glass: The Knicks outrebounded them 51-44 on Friday night while collecting 16 offensive boards to Boston's three.

The Celtics and Cavs will tip off at 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday night, with coverage on NBC Sports Boston beginning at 6:30 p.m.
