Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum missed USA Basketball's win over Argentina on Tuesday night because of right knee soreness, but it sounds like he's making progress.

"He practiced. He did a full practice," Team USA head coach Gregg Popovich told reporters Thursday. "He's actually down on the court with coach (Ime) Udoka right now getting extra work in."

Celtics fans will be glad to hear Tatum was back on the court and putting in time with Udoka, who was hired as Boston's new head coach last month.

The United States is 1-2 in exhibition play so far. Tatum scored 15 points in a loss to Nigeria and eight points in a defeat to Australia.

USA Basketball has two more exhibition games against Australia on Friday and Spain on Sunday before leaving for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics next week.

Tatum has played for USA Basketball in the past, but this is the first time he's been selected to the Olympic team. He's wearing No. 10 -- the Olympic number of his idol, Kobe Bryant.
