It was an emotional return to Spectrum Center on Thursday night for Kemba Walker.

The Boston Celtics' new point guard spent the first eight seasons of his NBA career in Charlotte, where he remains beloved both on and off the court. That was made clear by the Hornets' touching tribute video for their former star and the thunderous ovation from fans.

Walker talked about the warm reception after the Celtics' win with NBC Sports Boston's Abby Chin.

"I wish I played better, but we got the win and that's really all I wanted," Walker said. "The tribute video was nothing short of amazing and I really appreciate the organization. This is where I got my chance, my opportunity. It was a great night.

Walker took a backseat to his C's teammates as he dropped a modest 14 points in the victory, but there's no doubt it'll still be a night he won't ever forget.
