Kyrie Irving out for Celtics vs. Cavs with “flu-like symptoms”

The Boston Celtics will be shorthanded against the NBA's worst team.

Point guard Kyrie Irving is out for Wednesday night's game versus the Cleveland Cavaliers due to "flu-like symptoms," the Celtics announced. He'll join Al Horford on Boston's inactive list, as the veteran forward will be held out Wednesday to rest.

Irving has been playing his best basketball of the season of late, averaging 30.8 points and 11 assists per game over his last four contests.

In theory, Kyrie's absence shouldn't hurt much against his former team, which has lost 15 of its last 16 games and owns the worst record in the NBA at 9-39.

Terry Rozier likely will get the start at point guard in Irving's place.
