Tributes for Tommy Heinsohn have been pouring in Tuesday after it was announced that the Boston Celtics legend died at the age of 86, and the latest comes from one of the franchise's historic rivals.
Former Los Angeles Lakers point guard and Hall of Famer Magic Johnson reacted to the news of Heinsohn's passing with the following tweet:

Johnson's mention of games on CBS will bring back great memories for fans of both the Celtics and Lakers. CBS had the national television rights to NBA games in the 1980s, a decade highlighted by three NBA Finals series between Larry Bird's Celtics and Johnson's Lakers, including Boston's triumph in Game 7 in 1984.
Heinsohn was the color commentator with play-by-play man Dick Stockton for many of CBS' most memorable matchups during the decade, including all 19 of the NBA Finals games featuring the Celtics and Lakers.
Heinsohn not only was a great broadcaster, he also won eight championships in nine seasons as a Celtics player, in addition to winning two more titles as the team's head coach. He's one of four people inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame as both a player and a coach.
