The Los Angeles Lakers' 2018-19 season has been an absolute disaster, and Wednesday night was another low point.
The Lakers' chances of making the playoffs took another hit with a 115-99 loss to the Denver Nuggets at Staples Center, but that wasn't even the most dramatic part of the game.
Lakers point guard Rajon Rondo, in the final minute of the fourth quarter, sat in one of the courtside seats that was unoccupied because a lot of fans already had left at that point. It was a strange look, for sure, and ESPN NBA analyst Mark Jackson didn't hold back in his criticism of Rondo as it happened during the broadcast.

Rondo didn't think it was a big deal. "I've done it like maybe eight, 10 times this year," Rondo said, per ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk. "I don't know why it's a big deal now."
Lakers forward LeBron James recently sat pretty far away from teammates in a game against the Indiana Pacers, but in fairness, his seat was in the team's bench area and not in a fan seating location.
Rondo and the Lakers will try to salvage whatever is left of their season Saturday night when they host the rival Boston Celtics at Staples Center.
Rondo hit the game winner at the buzzer to beat his former team when the Lakers and Celtics played in Boston last month. The Lakers might need similar heroics to take down the Celtics again -- Boston is playing some of its best basketball of the season after back-to-back road wins.
