Since Kyrie Irving held court with reporters Tuesday in Boston, Yahoo! Sports and First Take have been among those to react to Irving saying re-signing with the Celtics "just doesn't make any sense."
That's not what he said. He said signing an extension now, which would net him less than he would make by signing with the team next summer, "just doesn't make any sense." He'd make up to $108 million if he signed this summer and up to $190 million if he signed next summer. Little language tip: You can't just put part of a person's answer to a question about one thing into a sentence about another thing.
