It looks like the Celtics won't be tasked with guarding Luka Doncic on Wednesday when they visit the Dallas Mavericks.

The Mavs star is expected to miss the next couple of weeks after suffering an ankle sprain in Saturday night's game vs. the Miami Heat, according to ESPN's Tim MacMahon.

It's a tough break for Doncic and the Mavericks, but they're undoubtedly fortunate the injury wasn't as serious as it originally appeared to be.

As for the C's, they'll just be glad to not have to deal with Doncic like they did last month. In the Nov. 11 matchup between these two teams at TD Garden, Doncic dropped 34 points to go with 9 assists and 6 rebounds. Boston was victorious, however, 116-106.
