Marcus Morris calls on Celtics to sign his twin brother, Markieff

The Celtics haven't yet lived up to expectations this season. After an embarrassing loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday night, the team is facing a major crossroads. Marcus Morris, one of the team's veteran leaders, recently called out the team and referred to them as a bunch of individuals.

And now, he's taking to Twitter to lobby for something else.

Morris tweeted on Monday afternoon about the availability of his twin brother, Markieff Morris, and seemingly alluded to the fact that the Celtics weren't going to get Markieff on the buyout market.

This shouldn't come as a surprise. The Morris twins have enjoyed playing together at the college and pro levels. The two haven't played together since 2015, so the opportunity could be there for them now. One potential obstacle has already been cleared, as Yahoo's Chris Haynes has reported that Morris has been cleared to return from a neck injury that has sidelined him since December -- and that the Rockets and Lakers are interested in signing him.

The Celtics did open a roster spot by trading Jabari Bird to the Atlanta Hawks prior to the trade deadline, so Markieff could be a fit for that spot. Still, there is no indication the Celtics have any interest in reuniting the Morris twins.

If the Celtics do pursue and ultimately sign Morris, they would be the second set of notable twins to reunite via a New England sports team. Jason McCourty was traded to the Patriots ahead of the 2018 NFL season and won Super Bowl LIII alongside his brother, Devin.
