Mike Gorman has the story on the Tommy Point IPA

Tommy Heinsohn's name will live on forever in Boston Celtics lore. The Hall-of-Fame player, coach, and broadcaster was the heart and soul of the organization for six decades and will always be known as "Mr. Celtic."

One of Heinsohn's trademark phrases during his Celtics broadcasting career was the "Tommy Point." Whenever a player did something that earned Heinsohn's seal of approval, they were awarded a Tommy Point for their efforts.

Now, you don't have to be a Celtics player to get a Tommy Point. The folks at Winter Hill Brewing in Somerville, Mass. have a Tommy Point IPA to honor Heinsohn's legacy.

Heinsohn's longtime C's broadcasting partner, Mike Gorman, took a trip to Winter Hill Brewing to see it for himself.

"It's pretty balanced. Kind of an east-coast style IPA, like in the lineage of a Harpoon IPA, so it's got a little bit of a malt body to it. But it's grapefruity, citrusy, a little floral," Winter Hill Brewing GM Bert Holdredge said of the Tommy Point IPA.

Winter Hill Brewing, which is filled with Celtics decor, has plenty of fans flocking to their doors for the beer with Heinsohn's famous phrase.

"We've got a lot of Celtic pride here at Winter Hill. If it's a game day, people are coming in to grab their four-packs for sure," Holdredge told Gorman.

"The last couple of times we've taken a chance and brewed it before the playoffs, they've gone deep. So hopefully this year that's the case as well."
