The Boston Celtics are finally getting that first round draft pick from the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Grizzlies finished No. 14 in the 2020 NBA Draft Lottery on Thursday night. Since the pick falls outside of the top six, it will convey to Boston this year and complete a 2014 trade between these teams. The pick was top-six protected for 2020, so if the Grizzlies had jumped up into the top four of the lottery, Memphis instead would have sent its 2021 first rounder to the C's unprotected.
The Celtics will now pick in the lottery for the fourth time in the last five years.
