Smart fined for flop against Siakam in Game 2

Marcus Smart did a little bit of everything Tuesday night -- including one of his favorite pastimes.

The NBA fined the Celtics guard $5,000 on Wednesday for flopping in Boston's Game 2 win over the Toronto Raptors in their second-round playoff series.

The flop in question occurred near the end of the third quarter, and it was a doozy: Smart bumped into Raptors star Pascal Siakam and catapulted to the floor in an attempt to draw a foul on a Fred VanVleet breakaway.

Five grand isn't chump change, but Smart did plenty to make Game 2 worth his while: The veteran guard hit five 3-pointers in the fourth quarter alone to spark Boston to a 102-99 victory.

Smart also drew the ire of Raptors head coach Nick Nurse, who thought the Celtics guard "fouled the s---" out of Siakam in the final minute of Game 2.

The NBA's Last Two Minutes report confirmed the referees were correct in not calling a foul, though, so it appears Smart only committed one major transgression Tuesday.
