The 2019-20 NBA season remains suspended amid the outbreak of COVID-19, and two of the league's spring events were officially postponed Friday.

The league announced the 2020 NBA Draft Lottery and the 2020 NBA Combine will not occur as originally scheduled. The lottery was set for May 19 and the combine was slated to begin May 21.

The league did not give new dates for when these events will take place.

The lottery would have been difficult to do without determining the final standings of the 2019-20 season, and we still don't know if play will resume or not. The Draft Combine is a great opportunity for teams to scout and interview the top prospects in the 2020 draft class. However, it obviously doesn't make sense to hold an event like that while people are practicing social distancing to limit the spread of COVID-19.

The 2020 NBA Draft is scheduled for June 25. The league has not officially postponed the event at this time. Although, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Friday that the league's Board of Governors "held off on formally pushing back the June 25 Draft date -- although sources still expect that will eventually be done."
