Report: Celtics draft pick Juhann Begarin to return to Paris for 2022-23

Juhann Begarin won't be making his NBA debut for the Boston Celtics during the 2022-23 season.

Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe reported Monday that Begarin will return to LNB Pro A (France) team Paris for the upcoming campaign.

Begarin remaining with Paris is not a huge surprise. The Celtics already have a bunch of players -- many of them older than Begarin -- who will compete for the last couple roster spots in training camp and the preseason beginning next month.

Begarin finished 12th in scoring during the 2022 Las Vegas Summer League at 18.2 points per game. He played quite well in Las Vegas, which was an encouraging sign for his development.

Boston selected Begarin in the second round (45th overall) of the 2021 NBA Draft. He averaged 11.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 29 games for Paris last season.
