There will be plenty of competition for roster spots and playing time during Boston Celtics training camp.
Shams Charania of The Athletic reported Thursday night that the C's have reached a training camp deal with former Villanova star Ryan Arcidiacono.
Arcidiacono averaged 4.8 points and 2.2 assists per game, while shooting 37.3 percent from 3-point range and 80.7 percent at the free throw line over his four seasons with the Chicago Bulls.
Arcidiacono went undrafted in 2016 despite leading Villanova to a national championship that season.
Earlier this week, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that free agent guard Theo Pinson will report to C's camp. Pinson and Arcidiacono will be among several players battling for the team's last roster spot or two.
The Celtics open training camp next Tuesday. Their first preseason game is Monday, Oct. 4 against the Orlando Magic at TD Garden.
