NBA rumors: Celtics' Terry Rozier plans to agree to three-year contract with Hornets

The Boston Celtics and Charlotte Hornets essentially will swap point guards.

The Celtics reportedly are expected to agree to a four-year, $141 million max contract with Hornets point guard Kemba Walker on Sunday night. Walker will replace Kyrie Irving, who's reportedly leaving Boston and will agree to a four-year max deal of his own with the Brooklyn Nets.

How will Charlotte replace Walker? Enter Terry Rozier.

Rozier is headed to the Hornets via a sign-and-trade, per The Athletic's Shams Charania. The 25-year-old guard's contract with the Hornets is a three-year, $58 million deal.

More details on this situation are still to come.

Rozier was a first-round draft pick of the Celtics in 2015 and primarily was used as a backup point guard in his four seasons with Boston. He finally will get a chance to start full-time in Charlotte next season.
