The Moose is loose once again.
The Boston Celtics have elected not to re-sign big man Greg Monroe after his 10-day contract expired Tuesday night, the Boston Herald's Mark Murphy reported Wednesday.
Monroe, who had a brief stint in Boston during the 2017-18 season, joined the Celtics on March 24, giving them frontcourt depth while Al Horford dealt with a sore knee and Aron Baynes recovered from an ankle sprain.

But the veteran big man appeared in just two games for a total of five minutes, and with Baynes and Robert Williams both healthy, Boston doesn't have a pressing need for Monroe.
Monroe's departure also gives the Celtics an open roster spot, which they could fill with another veteran before the regular season ends next Tuesday.
