Marcus Morris is headed to San Antonio after agreeing to a two-year $20 million contract with the Spurs, capping off a season full of departures from the Celtics 2018-19 roster.
Morris had a breakout start to last season, shooting 40.9 percent from three before the All-Star break. Even though he fell off substantially down the stretch, Morris exemplified a consistent approach and attitude that most of the team certainly lacked.
There was some speculation that he'd join LeBron James and Anthony Davis in LA, but Morris squashed those hopes a few hours before his reported agreement.
The Celtics acquired Morris in the summer of 2017 by trading away Avery Bradley to clear cap space for Gordon Hayward. Morris proved to be a valuable veteran throughout both of his seasons in Boston, especially during the team's run to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2018.
