The Boston Celtics reportedly will see old friend James Posey on the Washington Wizards sideline next season.

Posey, a member of the 2008 NBA champion Celtics, is finalizing a deal to join the Wizards coaching staff, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Posey averaged 7.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per game for Boston during the 2007-08 season while shooting 41.8 percent from the floor (38 percent from 3). He also helped the Miami Heat to an NBA title in 2006.

This will be Posey's second stint as an NBA assistant coach. Previously, he spent five seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers (2014-19) under Ty Lue and David Blatt. Last year he worked as an assistant in the University of Virginia women's basketball program.

In addition to the Celtics and Heat, Posey also played for the Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets, Memphis Grizzlies, New Orleans Hornets, and Indiana Pacers during his 12-year NBA career.
