NBA title odds 2020: Here's where Celtics, Lakers stand in new betting lines

The 2019 NBA Draft is over, and with that comes new betting odds for the 2019-20 NBA championship.

Oddsmakers pegged the Los Angeles Lakers as the favorites to win the 2020 NBA Finals after they reportedly acquired New Orleans Pelicans superstar center Anthony Davis via trade last weekend.

The latest post-draft odds from Caesars Palace in Las Vegas still have the Lakers atop the list:

The Lakers are an easy pick for this bet, but the other L.A. team offers much better value. The Clippers were linked to Leonard in free-agent rumors throughout season, and if they land the reigning NBA Finals MVP next month, their odds probably shift off +700 pretty quickly.

The Celtics have the fourth-highest odds among Eastern Conference teams, and they probably will jump to No. 3 if the Toronto Raptors lose Kawhi Leonard in free agency.

Boston's title odds figure to change, and maybe quite a bit, over the next few weeks.

The Celtics could have around $34 million in salary cap space in free agency, and they could target one of the top point guards or centers available. The C's have an impressive young core of Jayson Tatum, Marcus Smart and Jaylen Brown, and adding another talented veteran to that mix could help the Celtics compete in what might be a wide open East title race next season.
