The New York Knicks and their fans just can't catch a break.

This summer was supposed to be the time the Knicks finally landed a marquee free agent (or two), and Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant and Boston Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving were supposed to be the two superstars to come to Madison Square Garden and save the franchise.

One report even claimed the chances of Durant and Irving teaming up on the Knicks had a 95 percent chance of happening. Well, Durant and Irving, both unrestricted free agents, reportedly have agreed to sign with the Brooklyn Nets on four-year max contracts. So, not only did the Knicks miss out yet again, they saw these superstars go to their cross-town rival.

The Knicks and their fans haven't celebrated a championship since 1973, and the team has reached the NBA Finals only twice since that last title. There have been many bad days for Knicks fans over the last four decades, but Sunday is one of the worst, for sure.

Here's some of the best Knicks-related reaction to Durant and Irving taking their talents to Brooklyn instead of MSG.
