Pats, Celtics players react to Chadwick Boseman's death

Chadwick Boseman was a beloved actor -- especially in the professional sports community.

Boseman, who starred as King T'Challa in "Black Panther," died Friday at age 43 after a four-year battle with colon cancer.

Boseman's sudden death came as a shock to many who were unaware he was dealing with colon cancer. His passing prompted an outpouring of tributes and reactions on social media, notably from Boston athletes trying to process the news.

Star forward Jayson Tatum was among several Boston Celtics players who reacted to Boseman's death Friday night on Twitter. (Warning: some tweets contain NSFW language.)

Many New England Patriots players also took the news hard, including cornerback Stephon Gilmore, running back James White and defensive backs Devin and Jason McCourty.

Boseman was best-known for star "Black Panther" but starred as Jackie Robinson in "42" and Thurgood Marshall in "Marshall," as well, while most recently appearing in "21 Bridges" and "Da 5 Bloods."

The Los Angeles native also was a sports fan who regularly attended NBA games and was at the 2018 NBA All-Star Game.
