Paul Pierce hasn't had a good run at predicting things recently. And that should make Golden State Warriors fans very happy.
In recent weeks, the Boston Celtics legend has made some less-than-stellar predictions about events in the NBA. First, he declared the Celtics' series against the Milwaukee Bucks "over" after the Celtics won Game 1.
The C's would go on to lose the next four straight.
Then, Pierce said, "the Bucks got this" just before they took a 2-0 series lead over the Toronto Raptors. After that, the Bucks dropped four straight games.
And now, Pierce has picked the Raptors to win the NBA title in six games.
If the "Paul Pierce Curse" is indeed real, then the Raptors may have a tough time knocking off the Golden State Warriors in this series. The Raptors were already considered the underdog to the Warriors, who are playing in their fifth NBA Finals in a row, and having Pierce on their side doesn't seem to bode well for them. His recent streak speaks for itself.
I mean, c'mon, he even incorrectly predicted the ending of "Game of Thrones"!
But perhaps Pierce is looking to cause the Raptors to lose. After all, he didn't exactly get a warm reception from the Toronto crowd in his appearance at the arena.
We'll see if the Raptors can defy the Pierce curse and vindicate the Celtics legend. But if not, expect the legend to continue to grow.
