Raptors may be without DeRozan vs. Celtics

BOSTON – The Celtics know Kyrie Irving (left knee) is out for the game Saturday night against the Toronto Raptors.

Well, the Raptors may be without their leading scorer as well. DeMar DeRozan is questionable for the matchup between the NBA's top two teams in the East.

DeRozan reportedly flew to Los Angeles on Thursday to be with his ailing father, Frank.

The Raptors are aiming to finish with the best record in the East for the first time in franchise history and the play of DeMar DeRozan has a lot to do that.

A four-time All-Star, DeRozan is averaging 23.3 points, 5.2 assists and 3.8 rebounds while playing in all but one game this season.

A master of the mid-range game, DeRozan has expanded his shooting touch beyond the 3-point line, where he has connected on a respectable 31.7 percent for the season.

Toronto (55-20) comes into Saturday’s game with a three-game lead over Boston (52-23) with seven games remaining for both teams, including a pair of head-to-head matchups.
