Report: Anthony Davis shifts focus to Lakers and Knicks

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Anthony Davis has cut down his list of preferred destinations from four to two teams: the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks.

But, since Davis isn't a free agent, it doesn't exactly matter where Davis wants to go. The Pelicans want to get the most assets back for their superstar, and are reportedly asking for an All-Star player, a young talent with All-Star potential, and two first rounders. Davis, 26, has made the All-NBA first team three times and played in six All-Star games.

Davis has never publicly shown an interest in joining the Celtics, but Boston is aggressively pursuing him anyway, Charania reported. League sources told Charania that the Celtics believe in their roster with or without Kyrie Irving, and understand the risk of trading for Davis with one year remaining on his contract. Still, Davis's potential hesitancy to re-sign with Boston could lead them to hold back some of their assets in a trade package.

It's possible that Davis and Kyrie Irving end up playing together next season, even if they're not in green.
